He is excited by all that God is doing in people's lives here and that is what keeps him here!  He is married to Jennifer and they have 4 grown up boys. In the spare moments he loves playing and watching sport, messing with old furniture, gardening, cooking and his iPhone4.

Before ordination Marcus Gibbs worked as a management consultant in London for ten years, advising global corporations on their marketing strategies. Rugby is also a great passion and he witnessed Jonny Wilkinson’s winning kick for England in Sydney in 2003. He’s eagerly awaiting another English rugby renaissance, but in the meantime is delighted to support Northampton Saints! Marcus trained for ordination at Trinity College, Bristol and is Assistant Curate of St Giles, Northampton.

Geoff Waters
Assistant Curate 50+
Pastoral Care and Evangelism among people aged over 50
01604 230360
Saturday

Geoff heads up the teams who work with people in the 50 plus age group. Hymns of Praise, the midweek Holy Communion and Lunchclub Congregations, and Holiday at Home are the biggest things on his plate, but he loves getting stuck in with all ages at Church. Geoff knows there is nothing better in the whole world than telling people about Jesus. Geoff is married to Louise, who is an experienced early years practitioner, and they have two young daughters. Geoff has been at St Giles since 2002 - previously he worked for a Church in Bristol and studied theology at Trinity College (also in Bristol). Geoff wanted to be an astronaut, but is over the moon to be doing his present job. His first career was teaching Physics in a boys comprehensive School for 10 years. For family and professional reasons dementia is a major interest - and he wrote his MA dissertation (whilst  studying for ordination at Queen's Foundation, Birmingham) asking the question, 'Where is the person with dementia?' He likes cooking, photography, boats, bikes and cars; and is still nuts about the 'Apollo' Space Programme! He was revved up in 2008.

Pete has been at St Giles for nearly as long as the Vicar; having previously worked in various youth work projects: secondary school, youth justice, club & detached work, homeless hostel. He is married to Nat and has two daughters. Pete enjoys reading, being with his family, fixing things at home, trying to keep fit by cycling everywhere, swimming, playing squash, sailing and reading some more.

Cara will often be found in a coffee shop, shoe shop or any kind of shop for that matter and is well known for her vast variety of "funky" footwear. If you want to get to know her better, free meals and a glass of wine are always welcome.

In her 'spare' time Cara enjoys seeing friends, spending time with her 3 year old niece, holidaying in nice places, knitting, making things, watching films, documentaries and  '24'.

Her other loves include... being part of and encouraging community- with all ages having a part to play, Muller Fruit Corners, Sharks and of course seeing children and families grow in their faith.
